You choose who pays.

Pass the booking fee to your guests and it covers Covered's fee and standard card processing, so you keep the full ticket price. Or absorb it and keep slightly less of each ticket. Free events cost nothing either way.

How we compare

What guests see, per ticket.

£20

Estimates from each platform's publicly published booking or service fee as of August 2026 unless stated, per ticket with one ticket per order, rounded to the nearest penny; actual fees depend on event type and each platform's current terms. Covered's figure is the booking fee guests see at checkout when it's passed on, which includes card processing at Stripe's standard UK rate (1.5% + 20p). Eventbrite's and Fixr's fees include card processing; Skiddle's, Fatsoma's and Ticket Tailor's are their published booking fees, and card processing may sit on top. Fixr and Ticket Tailor publish their fees before VAT, so theirs are shown with 20% VAT added; the others are shown as published. Fixr's figure includes its separate per-order transaction fee, so it may be lower for guests buying several tickets at once. Ticket Tailor's figure is its published UK pay-as-you-go rate (captured October 2026); prepaid credits (from £0.22 plus VAT) lower the rate for high-volume sellers.

Who pays Stripe's card processing fee?+

Stripe bills it to your own Stripe account. When your guests pay the booking fee, it includes Stripe's standard UK card rate (1.5% + 20p), so it covers it. Amex and international cards cost a little more, and that difference comes out of your payout. If you absorb the booking fee, Stripe's processing comes out of your payout.

Is there a monthly fee?+

Not for ticketing: nothing to start and no monthly fee. Sending email marketing campaigns is an optional paid monthly plan.

What happens to the booking fee if I refund a booking?+

Your guest gets the ticket price back. The booking fee isn't refunded, and neither Covered's fee nor Stripe's processing fee is returned on a refund.

Is there a minimum fee?+

Covered's fee is 5% of the ticket price paid, after any discount, with a minimum of 30p per ticket. The minimum only makes a difference on tickets under £6.00.

Are free events really free?+

Yes. Free tickets have no booking fee and no card payment, so nothing is charged to you or your guests.
